Introduction
During the summer of 1996, five broadband stations were installed to record mining activity in the Powder River Basin in eastern Wyoming. Collaborators at Los Alamos National Lab conducted ground truth experiments at the Black Thunder Coal Mine in conjunction with the deployment.
Equipment consisted of Streckeisen STS-2 seismometers and 24-bit Reftek data loggers recording locally to 2Gb hard disks. At one station, a 3-element infrasound array was deployed.
