Station Parameter file setup
Station parameter (stapar) files contain information regarding station location, sensors, dataloggers, and recording parameters as they change with time. They are named by date (YYDDDHHMMSS.msS) where the date reflects the time of the parameter changes. An example stapar file for the Anza array. Stapar files are broken up into 4 distinct sections containing information regarding different aspects of the data. These four sections are defined below:
Site ? _SID __Latitude _Longitude _Elevation N-offset E-offset V-offset ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Site %-4s station code ? %-1s is the station up? (Y/N) SID %4d station ID number (usually internal to stapar files) Latitude %9.4f station latitude (decimal) Longitude %9.4f station longitude (decimal) Elevation %9.4f station elevation (meters) N-offset %7.4f station north offset from reference site (if any) (meters) E-offset %7.4f station east offset from reference site (if any) (meters) V-offset %7.4f station vertical offset from reference site (if any) (meters)
Site Comp Type Serial Theta Phi ____Freq ____Damp ____Coil RponseFile Sens Depth -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Site %-4s station code Comp %4d component name (channel number or sensor code) Type %-4s sensor type (VEL, ACC, etc) Serial %6d sensor serial number Theta %5.1f sensor vertical orientation (degrees from up) Phi %3.1f sensor horizontal orientation (degrees from north) Freq %8.6f natural frequency of sensor Damp %8.6f damping coefficient of sensor Coil %8.6f generator constant of seismometer (V/cm/s) RponseFile %-10s reference to file containing sensor response (poles and zeroes) Sens %-4s 3 letter sensor code (SEED convention) Depth %5.4f sensor depth (meters)
