Amery Ice Shelf Loose Tooth Monitoring 2005-2006
Our first stop was Sansom Island, which serves as a fuel depot and
staging area for operations on the Amery Ice Shelf. We slept in that
red hut one night; it is small but has a kitchen and some sofas, and
protects us from the howling wind. There is a small Russian base on
the island on the far right.
