Storms and wind left many of the stations covered by snow drifts, which meant we had a lot of digging to do. Nearly all of the computers and sensors worked perfectly, giving us a nice big new data set to analyze. The speed at which rifts form and open in ice shelves is still a mystery that we are trying to unravel -- the big question is how rising ocean temperatures will affect the rifting process.
